Shawnee Community College came to Joppa on April 22 to share about Dual Credit, Dual Enrollment, TRIO, Career Service, and Financial Aid.
We are in need of all Senior pictures. The Metropolis Planet will be posting them in the Graduation Section in May. If you do not turn a picture in we will use the Wagner class pictures. If that is unavailable, there will not be a picture posted.

JP attended the RYLA Conference over the weekend. RYLA is a leadership training program designed to enhance a youth leader's teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, while breaking them out of their comfort zones, encouraging "service above self", and making new connections with students from around the world.

The College of Liberal Arts is hosting two summer camps this summer: Unearthing History: Archaeology Camp (June 9-14) (https://conferenceservices.siu.edu/camps-youth-programs/archeology-camp.php) and Gamification Camp (June 10-14) (https://conferenceservices.siu.edu/camps-youth-programs/gamification-camp.php). The Archaeology Camp would be great for students interested in archaeology, other areas of anthropology, history, and related fields. The Gamification Camp is good for students interested in virtual reality, artificial intelligence, storytelling, and gaming.

Monday, April 22, 2024 will be Shawnee Community College Parent night for any student interested in taking the Dual Credit/Early College classes. There will be refreshments and prizes. We hope to see you there!
