First graders participated in a "Virtual Weather School Talk" by NOAA, National Weather Service. We learned how to watch the weather and "When thunder roars, go indoors!" We also talked about how important safety drills are.

Testing time is right around the corner. The Illinois Science Assessment will be given the following dates: March 30th- 5th Grade ISA March 30th- Biology 11th Grade March 31st- 8th Grade ISA These exams will be given after breakfast those mornings.


Shawnee Development Council has released its scholarship application. The requirements are 1) must be a resident of Alexander, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, or Union County in Illinois; 2) household income must fall into the approved CSBG federal poverty guidelines (see the attachment); 3) must attend an accredited college, trade school, or university in the state of Illinois; 4) must be a full-time student and 5) must complete the necessary application requirements in the time frame allotted. The deadline is April 29, 2021. See Mrs. Bellamey for an application.

You can get a substitute Teacher or Teacher's aide license If you have 60 hrs of college credit. You can apply for a substitute certificate through the Regional Superintendents office or go to https://www.isbe.net/licensure-requirements
