Thanks for all that you do for our students...
The 3rd grade class spent the morning learning how to use their Chromebooks.
We would like to thank EEI/Vistra for sponsoring and purchasing Chromebooks for Ms. Rivera's class. We really appreciate the donation.
First Grade Conductors enjoy running The Polar Express up and down the hallways! "All Aboard!"
We did it! The Maple Grove Elementary School students have donated 716 canned goods along with many other pantry items for Joppa Missionary Baptist Church’s food pantry. We have truly captured the meaning of generosity this holiday season.
The 6th grade class collected 237 canned goods for the food drive.
The Junior Class is selling “Ranger Country” yard signs. If you are interested in purchasing a sign, see any Junior Class student, or contact Mrs. Peck at the elementary school. Help us build up our Ranger Spirit!
First Graders are writing in the "snow!" Best Spelling test ever!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the office staff at Joppa/Maple Grove School District #38.

SANTA’S WORKSHOP
The PTO will once again have Santa’s Workshop. It will be a little different this year. The students will get to order from Santa’s “Giftalog”. They will place their orders during the week of December 14 - 17. All orders will be delivered by the 18. Please help your child complete a list of people he/she wants to buy a gift for and send to
school on his/her shopping day. Please send 1.00 for each item that will be ordered. Monday - Fifth and Sixth, Tuesday - Third and Fourth, Thursday – PreK, Kindergarten, First and Second. Friday will be set aside in case someone missed the day the class turned in orders. Please make every effort to send list and money on the day your
child’s class is shopping. Because of COVID19 orders will be filled by teachers, so there will be no volunteers here to help. Thank you.

Next Friday, December 18th, marks the end of our first semester. While we are all excited about our break, there are numerous tasks to be completed before we break. I encourage parents and students to go into STI and check their grades. We want to make sure that all items and tasks are completed before the end of next week and that our students have completed the required work in each of their classes. The district will continue to offer opportunities for students to flex in during our 2:00 -3:00 pm remote time tomorrow, next week, and also on Wednesday the 16th during our remote learning day. We have provided these opportunities as a way for students to maximize their ability to complete their work as well as a time for our teaching staff to work with remote learners not in the building. For those needing more time, our WIFI in the building also works all the way to the road at both buildings. Students are welcome to come to either building and sit on our picnic tables at the Jr/Sr High or at Maple Grove Elementary in the parking lot after school hours. This invitation to the building after hours also applies for our students that are Remote Learners. We do appreciate your support during this different semester. If you have issues with your STI account, please reach out to me at jdufour@joppa38.com .
We do know by working together we can make these last days before break productive.
Next week there will be an early release for Joppa Jr/Sr High and Maple Grove Elementary school at 1:26 for both next Thursday, December 17th and Friday, December 18th. Those days will switch from being exam days to regular (1:26 p.m.) early release days. High school students will not take exams this fall. The only exception to that is that high school dual credit students will take exams for their particular class during those days. Thanks for your understanding and willingness to be flexible during this time.
Southeast Missouri University is proud to introduce a new Bachelor of Science Professional Pilot!
Job growth and advancement in commercial aviation offers your students a promising future with 50% of licensed pilots retiring in the next 20 years. Starting pay for commercial pilots is over $120,000 per year and 76% of airlines say they require pilots to have a four-year degree.
We are so glad that students are back. We will be remoting on Wednesday's like before and if you are in need of a meal for tomorrow and your are not on the list please reach out to either school. Thanks
