TODAY I AM A 1ST GRADER!!! Mrs. Godfrey-Maple Grove Elementary
ALUMNI GIVING BACK -
Unexpected acts of kindness bring joy to district employees and students. It is truly a wonderful blessing for previous Joppa students and community members to “Give Back” to the teachers and the school district that contributed to their education. Helping your community is an opportunity for each of us to grow as a person, to help others in need, and it is a rewarding experience. Recent graduates, Carly (Peck) Jones and Emily Reames along with Amy Little helped to organize a way for people to support teachers and students by providing extra school supplies. Businesses such as Sonic and Country Companies also stepped in to show their support. The contributions were made with love and kindness and are greatly appreciated.
Seniors - If you were ever considered homeless during your high school experience, you are eligible for this scholarship: https://naehcy.org/naehcy-scholarship-fund/ The scholarship application opens on August 9. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Bellamey

The 5th graders read "The Lemonade War" during the month of May. To celebrate finishing they competed in their own lemonade war. Students used what they learned about sales to create business plans, recipes, and analyze costs vs. profits. A huge thanks to the staff of Maple Grove and Kindergarten-6th grade for participating in our lemonade sales. The Jolly Surprise booth ran by Emily, Corbin, and Ava had the most sales. All of the students did an excellent job and had a great time!!
