One of the best parts of being in one building: the big kids get to be involved in story time, too! The seniors took a break from browsing the Scholastic Book Fair to hear Mr. May read a spooky story, Frankencrayon!

Attention all Joppa families!!
We will be having a flag raising ceremony on November 9 at 8 am to honor Veterans. We are trying to reach out and invite Veterans of our Joppa families or any Veterans you know in the area. We are putting together a little ceremony and will be hosting a breakfast for the Veterans after the ceremony. Also, if you have a Veteran that is no longer with us, but would like to have him/her honored, please email Ms. Wear or send a note to the office. Also, we have a wall in our main hallway where we are posting pictures of Veterans associated with Joppa-Maple Grove either as alumni, family members, or community members. If you have any photos you would like to share with us, please do so. We want our Veterans to know how much they are appreciated and to feel the love and support from Joppa-Maple Grove. Please email wwear@joppa38.com with RSVPs for the ceremony and breakfast so we can make sure we have plenty of food. All community members are invited to join us to for the ceremony. THANK YOU!

Hello Joppa Community!
We are making changes to the drop off and pick up routine at Joppa-Maple Grove that will start Wednesday, October 18. These changes are being made to increase safety measures. I have included a map to help clarify.
* Joppa Jr/Sr High car riders will be dropped off and picked up at the main entrance of the school building.
* Buses will enter on the south side of the parking lot. They will be the only vehicles allowed to go behind the building.
* Elementary car riders will now be picked up and dropped off at the gym lobby. (If you have children at both levels, they can be picked up and dropped off at the gym lobby. JHS students will walk the sidewalk to the front entrance.)
* Elementary buses will drop off and pick up on the south corner of the gym.
* Joppa Jr/Sr High students will be dropped off and picked up at the West Central doorway by Mrs. Bellemey's classroom. (The door on the opposite side of the main entrance.)
Please help us by donating blood on October 16 from 1:15-6:15 in the JHS cafeteria.
