The Senior Beta Club traveled to Springfield, IL, on March 22 for State Convention. They enjoyed a nice dinner together at Joe's Pizza in Mount Vernon and then spent Thursday and Friday competing. We had 14 competitors representing our district; 3 students placed in individual competitions, and our school won one club category.
Sky Keeling: 3rd place - Recyclable Arts, 2nd place - Digital Arts
Ava Stephens: 2nd place - Sculpture
Libbie Lumbley: 3rd place - 12th-grade Math, 3rd place - On-Site Drawing
Our school won 3rd place in 3-Dimensional Design. Sky Keeling, Libbie Lumbley, Ava Stephens, Troy Latham, and Jaelyn Marley constructed a 3D project to enter that category.
Students will bring their projects this week to display in the Library for April to celebrate their wins.
These winners advance to the National Convention in Louisville, KY, in June.

Health students traveled to Massac Co Fire Department to learn about what firefighters do to help during emergencies. Students were able to practice lifting injured citizens, using fire extinguishers, and how wedge fallen objects up off of someone.

Our Jr. High Girl's Volleyball team placed second in the Conference tournament this weekend. Great job, ladies.
Monday, March 13, we will pick the winner of the iPad. Book Blast donated the IPad as part of the Book Blast program at Maple Grove.
The 5th and 6th-grade basketball and cheerleaders awards banquet will be on Tuesday, March 21. It will be held in the Maple Grove Cafeteria. The awards night will start at 5:30 p.m., with pizza and drinks for everyone. Around 6:00 p.m., we will have an awards presentation.
