Congratulations to Mrs. Jessica Bowman on being selected as the winner of the Elevate Award for the month of December. The third grade teacher is not only doing amazing things in the classroom, but she is a leader in helping the district maintain a positive school culture.
Below is a snapshot of her impact as observed by her friends and colleagues.
“Mrs. Bowman is an awesome teacher and mentor. I have seen her going above and beyond to help students since the beginning of the school year. She uses her own personal time to help decorate the school, including the hallway she has worked so hard on the last week.”
“Jessica is a servant leader--she is always ready to help other teachers. She is obviously an innovator by how she keeps the hallway decorated!! She works tirelessly and kindly with students and staff to Elevate 38.”
Sponsored by Cordavino's Italian Kitchen in Metropolis, the Elevate Award is given each month to a teacher or staff member who has gone above and beyond normal expectations to help “elevate” the success and profile of the Joppa-Maple Grove School District.
Monthly winners receive a $50 gift card to Cordavino’s Italian Kitchen, a certificate of recognition, and will be featured on the school district website and social media channels.
Others nominated this month were Helga Aviles (Ms. Jean), Penny Bellamey, Jamie Clark, Paxton Cohoon, Ethan May, Crystal Forthman, Jeff Goodard, Kenzie Heady, Morgan Hillebrand, Stephanie Joles and Lori Jones.
