Congratulations to Mrs. Tamra Peck on being selected as the winner of the Elevate Award for the month of August. The second grade teacher has taught in the district since 1991 and will retire at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
Mrs. Peck was nominated by three different staff members who had nothing but praise for her leadership and positivity as a valued teacher in the school district.
"Tami wears many hats in this district."
"Mrs. Peck has always gone above and beyond for the district and her students."
"Tami Peck is dedicated to our students and is very passionate about JMG#38. She proves it every year by planning and promoting multiple events."
"She has proven over and over again that she is willing to do whatever it takes to make our district thrive. Tami's efforts do not go unnoticed and I'm blessed to not only work with her, but to call her my friend."
Sponsored by Cordavino's Italian Kitchen in Metropolis, the Elevate Award is given each month to a teacher or staff member who has gone above and beyond normal expectations to help “elevate” the success and profile of the Joppa-Maple Grove School District.
Monthly winners will receive a $50 gift card to Cordavino’s Italian Kitchen, a certificate of recognition, and will be featured on the school district website and social media channels.
Others staff members nominated for the month of August were Crystal Forthman, Morgan Hillebrand, Ethan May, Amy Rojas, Alyssa Schloss and Stephanie Wood.
